In Memphis, a fantastic gem in the business community is Start Co., co-founded by my friend and fellow thinker, Eric. Start Co. is a start-up incubator and accelerator, bringing entrepreneurs from all over the world to this great city to take business ideas to the next level.

This sign hangs in the Start Co. hallway. I love the expression and thought it might inspire others, too: As iron sharpens iron, so does one person sharpen another.

I’ve been around plenty of entrepreneurs — the three bosses I’ve had so far in my career, my clients, my friends, people whose businesses I patronize, and more — and I know that they are TOUGH and resilient, just like iron.
